I was looking at one of these blogrolls that is getting shared around and it is filled with stuff like Kottke and Daring Fireball. Nothing against these sites—they’re fine—but they kind of seem like gimmes.

It’s like when every contestant on Wheel Of Fortune used to pick R, S, T, L, N, and E as their letters in the final round, and they just started giving them those.
