I keep seeing reviews of Rebel Moon lamenting the lackluster writing (true, at least in the 10-15 minutes of the movie that I was able to take before rolling my eyes and turning it off) but going on about how it has Snyder’s distinctive visual style.

I don’t understand this take. I guess his visual style is distinct in that every scene looks like a coffee stain, but it just never appeals to me and I find it to be exceedingly tiresome.
