As someone who is (at best) only a very casual tabletop gamer, I have come to realize that there is a quite small area on the spectrum between “We are going to spend half an hour reading through all the setup and rules before we start actually playing” and “Don’t worry, you’ll figure it out as we play” that works for me, and that is largely what makes gaming in a group deeply unenjoyable for me.
