Having now read a few recaps of last night’s debate, I am feeling pretty confident in my decision not to watch any of it.

I don’t think I watched any of the debates during the run-up to the 2020 election, either in the primaries or the general. One learns nothing from such affairs—they are all about the candidates looking for their big gotcha moment and trying to land punches—and I find the media circus around them tiresome and depressing.
