Finished reading: The Last Command: Star Wars Legends (The Thrawn Trilogy) by Timothy Zahn đź“š

I mostly enjoyed this book, right up until the last twenty pages or so. What a disappointing ending!

After spending the two precious books and most of this one building up Thrawn, it’s like Zahn got to the end and realized he had no idea how to close out the story. It’s almost a “Poochie has decided to return to his home planet” sort of conclusion.

I wish Zahn had spent less time with Talon Karrde and his crew of smugglers—in whom I could really not muster much interest—and more time prepping for Thrawn’s conclusion. I guess it’s no wonder he has now devoted six books' worth of story on the Grand Admiral in the new canon books.
