I have been on Bluesky—mostly lurking—for a few weeks now and it still seems to mostly be people snidely insisting it is “nothing like that other site” while conducting themselves exactly like they did on that other site.

Whatever charms or merits the service has (and I think they are few) are likely due to the relatively small number of users. I see no reason the service won’t descend into mayhem as it scales, as there is no fundamental difference between it and Twitter.
