While I no not want to downplay any of the risks and threats we as a society currently face, I will note that it is sometimes difficult to pick apart how much of it is that we actually live in a time of unprecedented risk and how much of it is that people seem to take some pleasure in talking about how we live in a time of unprecedented risk.
