Sorry, everybody

My cousin in Toronto pointed out this site to me this evening, and I’ve gotten completely sucked into it. Oddly, it’s making me feel much better about the whole election…

It’s also nice to see the number of “It’s okay, we know you tried” submissions from people in other countries.

On the other hand, in the words of one person on the site, “Sorry isn’t good enough.” It’s reassuring to see so many normal people who feel bad about how the election went, but as I’ve said before, the key is not to drown ourselves in these feelings. Self-pity and that sense that we did everything we could and still lost– those aren’t going to get us anywhere. Neither will sitting around and waiting for the 2008 presidential election. If that’s all we do, we’ll be lucky to get 49% of the vote.
