Few things can put me off from a book as quickly as a multiple-POV novel that starts each chapter with the POV character’s name. It’s like the author straight-up saying up front, “I couldn’t make these people distinct enough for you to be able to tell the difference between them.”

I think George R.R. Martin is largely to blame for the proliferation of this trend.
