Maybe it is a symptom of getting older, but these days, I find that the tools and systems I have for doing and tracking my work are basically good enough, and I think I am better off just using what I have and focusing on the work itself. Fiddling with the systems and trying out new tools is a distraction and a waste of time.

I suppose the expecting would be places where I have gaps and leaks in my workflow, but even those can generally be addressed by minor tweaks to stuff I’ve already got in place.
