For everyone here in Massachusetts who likes to think we live in a nice, safe, blue state, please note that 30% of the votes in the GOP gubernatorial primary just went to Scott Lively. I don’t have the exact numbers in front me, but I think that comes to around forty thousand votes.

That means that about forty thousand of our fellow Massholes voted for a guy who wrote a book blaming Nazism on homosexuality and who helped draft the Ugandan Anti-Homosexuality Act, which proposed the death penalty.

And mind you, Lively garnered 30% of the vote in a race against Republican incumbent Charlie Baker, who we are constantly reminded is Very Popular.
