I have been listening to the audiobook version of John Carreyou’s Bad Blood while out running the last few days. I am only up to about 2007-2008 in Theranos’s history, and already the company seems like an obvious fraud, and Elizabeth Holmes a delusional charlatan.
It is crazy that SV culture and American capitalism allowed and encouraged this scam for years more before the whole thing fell apart, with all variety of alarms and red flags being willfully ignored along the way.
Tech startup culture increasingly seems like a moral abyss.
